Hercules Seghers

I am paying homage to one of my favorite early printmakers Hercules Segher.
He was relentlessly innovative, and always blurred the line between prints and drawings/paintings.

I made some transparency this evening.

Monday Nov 18th- The power of cats

I am borrowing a friend's cat to rid my apartment of mice. This has had some unintended consequences. Mainly that whenever I attempt to do something arty the Cat becomes focused on sitting and purring on me. or walking on newly gessoed canvases.

I hate how this turned out so I am gonna toss it and start over. They can't all be winners.


extra ink.

Instead of screenprinting ink I am using acrylic paint mixed with golden's Silkscreen medium. The colors are higher quality then are available in the standard speedball screenprinting ink. I sometimes use creatix pure pigment mixed into speedball transparent base. I Prefer the Golden, the Creatix can create pulls of unmixed pigment. The only draw back to the Golden is that the mixed paint dries quickly and plasticizes. I move pretty fast, but it is almost unusable after 20 minutes.

Tonight I made some worm themed positives. with India ink and tracing paper. I hope to print them this weekend.
